I cannot access to my old file

Hello. I had upgraded to version 2.81 but I cannot open my old *.epim file. It says "file ... is not a valid database".
I believe this was not supposed to happen, but it does, and I cannot find any FAQ resolving this question.
Is is possible to find the old version?
I would appreciate any help.

Try it like this.

Create a new database and copy the data from the old database file into the new database using EPIM-Sychronizer.
