(Solved) No Network Connection
Hi everyone, about 3 or 4 months ago I was about to give up on Essential PIM & I even had to resort to utilizing Mozilla Thunderbird for a brief period as I continued troubleshooting why my Essential PIM kept saying that I didn't have a Network Connection when I clearly did. I was able to browse the web just fine & transfer files on my Local Network. I will spare you the long version & get to the solution. If you are connected via Ethernet & you are also connected to a switch (I have a Netgear Gigabit ProSafe GS180E) it is quite possible that the port you are plugged into is glitchy or not stable. I tried unplugging the electricity to the switch & even swapped Ethernet Cables but Essential PIM still wouldn't work. I finally played 'Musical Chairs' with the Ethernet Cable & unplugged it from where it was & simply plugged it into a different port on the same switch & Essential PIM started working immediately. For those of you wondering, I also tried doing a Cold Boot of my Desktop & Essential PIM still said No Network Connection. The only solution (& it's still working fine) was to simply move the Ethernet Cable to a different port on the Switch. I realize that this will only be relevant for a handful of Users that have a similar setup as myself, but if I can help even 1 other person with this issue, than I feel good about submitting this post.
