Need Notes section and Calendar displayed at the same time

Post by Your V Gal »

I keep a monthly Note of projects worked on by date : Project name / where I worked / miles driven / number of hours on project I really need to have this Note table displayed side-by-side with my Calendar View so I can more efficiently complete my monthly reports. Currently I only know to close my Calendar, open my Notes section, enter 1 project info, close my Notes, go back to my Calendar to find the next entry. My other option is making a list by hand and then transcribing to my notes section which is such a time-waster. Any way to display 2 open sections at the same time?

I use Sticky Notes to have the Calendar and selected Notes on the screen at the same time, but I use two screens so the Sticky Notes do not hide any part of the Calendar..

You can also try running multiple instance of EPIM at the same time (there's a setting in 'options' that let's you do that). I do it all the time.
So open EPIM, then open EPIM again with the same database open. Then you can view different modules from the same database side by side.

Super convenient. Some users seem to have a had trouble with data being updated on one session and not the other but I've had no such trouble. Something to keep in mind. Good luck.

great idea!
you can better and quicker copy and past info between this sections.
plus better visability, at once.
otherwise..., no idea how you do it.

a copy&paste manager would be great, but that should make the os.
no idea why they haven't this idea 30y ago.
you should see the temp parts before pasting and manage more at once!

that's an idea i thought it could go this way now.
i forgot where i saw the function to show two windows, next to another, like open book, was it linux, apple...?
linux was far ahead with it's desktop.

two open modules open at once next to another would be great for the feature.
this could have advantadges, like not iritating by two tabs in taskbar and quicker find window in taskbar.
let's maybe keep that in mind/on to-do.

We're planning to implement the ability to open different EPIM modules in separate windows within the main EPIM window in future program versions.

For now, as suggested by DD1, you can use a workaround by opening two EPIM instances. However, be aware that this approach could lead to duplicate messages if you're actively using POP3 email accounts (this doesn't affect IMAP or Exchange mail accounts).

I have tried opening 2 EPIM instances at the same time [selecting that mode in options] and I lose my marbles -- I must not know how to do this. It messes up my database, my calendar, my [pop] email, and takes me days to get back to one EPIM where I was.

Two modules open at the same time in one EPIM database would be heaven. I can see many uses that would really improve productivity.

Thank you for considering. Happy 2025!

hi admin,
thanx and try to implement a button to show both next to each other!
yeah, working from two instances or by more user a time is dangerouse.
i try to avoid that.
will wait for the feature.
