EssentialPIM 12.0 Release Candidate Now Available!

Now that EssentialPIM 12.0 is out of Beta, we are excited to present the Release Candidate version, publicly available for anyone willing to try it before the final release. Here’s what you can expect from EPIM 12.0:

• Revamped preview window with an emphasized subject and convenient action buttons.

• Updated Tag Explorer for streamlined tag management and assignment.

Make a copy of your database before use this EPIM 12 version.

EPIM automatically creates a copy before converting your database file into a new version. However, taking an extra precautionary step is always a good idea to ensure the safety of your data.

We were unable to reproduce the issue. Please follow the guidelines outlined in my previous post, or you can send me your EPIM.ini file via private message. We suspect that some settings might be influencing this behavior.

Only four actions appear when I hover over a message, and they don't align with the release notes. The tool tips show

• Follow up

• Mark as starred (favorite?)

• Mark as Unread/Read

• Delete

The "Read Only" label in the options for the Tasks dialog is truncated.

Update: I can get the entire text, "Read Only" to appear by reducing the font in Tools > Options > Appearance > Font Size from 12 pt to 10 pt. However, the field for the label perhaps should be enlarged to accommodate users who prefer larger fonts.

I seem to have misinterpreted your comment. You were correct about the actions in the list view. We have updated the release notes to reflect that.

Hello DG,

increasing the font size has always led to dialogs not being displayed completely or illegibly.
This is also noticeable in the display of contacts. I had therefore already suggested displaying the notes in an extra TAB.

My further suggestions for a more user-friendly EPIM can be found in the attached file.

In version 12, I was particularly impressed by the "Transition to the Chromium engine for faster and more efficient rendering of HTML emails".

Hello EPIM team,

version 12 unfortunately does not convince me, as it is mainly about the design (existing functions repackaged). Long-standing bugs (see forum) have not been fixed, especially in the areas of sorting, filters, search and synchronization. Unfortunately, there are no real innovations in terms of productivity. In fact, hardly anything has changed - only version 12 is significantly slower than 11.8.4.. In my opinion, the further development (?) seems to be primarily about design and no longer about productivity. I also have the impression that Astonsoft is basing the further development of EPIM on Thunderbird. EPIM used to be characterized by not being mainstream, but now it is moving in exactly this direction - regrettable.

Why are not all letters large in the new contact window when you set that in options?
Could you adjust that before the release of EPIM 12, that would be very useful.
The notes are large letters.
