How to redownload / activate the professional edition on Android

Post by Skynet »

So, this has probably been an issue that has been adressed before. I am struggeling with getting the professional version of the Android app on my phone. I bought a professional license before, and after a while I changed to a new phone. Now I am stuck with the free version. If I try to buy the professional version again (It wouldn't bother me, since it isn't a huge amount of money), I just get a message that states that I already have bought the application.

How do I proceed from here?

I assume you still have your licensekey that you entered on your old Android device.
If so, than on your new device follow these steps;
1 - Open the settings screen in the Android EPIM app
2 - scroll to the end and tap on ABOUT
3 - Now tap 3x short after each other on the EssentialPIM LOGO.
4 - A pop-up appears where you can enter the licensekey.
5 - After inputting the licensekey, confirm it with tapping on OK.
6 - When you now close and reopen Android EPIM, the program will run in PRO mode, that removes the "Upgrade to EssentialPIM Pro!" messages.

Another way to resolve the issue would be to get the previous version (5.8.7) of AEPIM and then allowing it to update.

Here's how to do it:
1. Download the AEPIM 5.8.7 APK file from the following link: https://www.essentialpim.com/download/o ... _5.8.7.apk
2. Before proceeding, ensure you have enabled downloads from unknown sources on your device (if necessary). (This step may vary depending on your device and Android version.)
3. Install the downloaded APK file.
4. Once installed, allow AEPIM to update to the latest version.

I hope this helps!

I can't remember any license key. It is several years since I bought it. The only license key I have on my records is the one for the desktop version that I bought back in 2010. Is it possible in any way to recover or get my hands on the license key that is connected to my Android version of EPIM? That would be nice. EDIT: I guess the license key is registered on my Google Play Store adress?

I can of course try the APK-angle to solve this as well?

Best regards

Yes, that's the correct assumption.

So, the thing is; I actually have two Android Pro licenses (one for me, and one for my partner), but I can't remember the license key for any of them.
So then my question is:

1) Is it possible to recover the license key, if we supply the android addresses the license key is registered on?
2) If it is not possible, is it possible to arrange in some way that I can buy two new license keys, that I keep for future upgrades and phone switches?

Regardless if it is not possible to recover the license keys, I don't mind buying two new one, so either way works fine for me.

Cheers

There are no license keys, as you mentioned your license is linked to your Google account. Please refer to the instructions provided in my previous post here: viewtopic.php?p=133842#p133842. Following these steps should help you regain access to the registered Pro version. Thank you!

Ok!

I just assumed it was a license key since PeCe mentioned it in his answer earlier in this thread, and you followed up with "another way of resolving this issue", as if it was two alternative solutions. I will look into the APK-angle.

License keys were primarily provided to users without Google accounts. Since we were unsure of which group you belong to, there could have been two separate solutions to the problem. Thanks!

Ahh! That made sense, and then it was not strange that I didn't remember putting in any license keys in the first place. Thank you for the clarification around that one.
