EPIM Won't Play My Tune

I'm using EssentialPIM for Android on my Samsung Galaxy A10. I replaced the original notification sound file with one that has a distinctive tune. It worked a couple of times but then went back to using the system default sound file. The correct file is listed in the settings. I've restarted the phone and it did no good. Can anyone suggest how I can make it play the sound I want?

Problem solved. I went to Settings -> Apps -> EssentialPIM -> Notifications and set all the notification sounds to the new value. It now does as expected,
