AEPIM is contacting many 1e100.net adresses

Post by Konserv »

Why is Android EPIM contacting all these 1e100.net adresses? (see picture)
All thes calls came directly after just opening AEPIM (I cleared the firewall log first)
I have unchecked the "Share analytics" option.

If the "Share analytics" option is disabled, there shouldn't be any external calls happening. We will verify this on our end. Thanks.

I tapped and untapped the "Share analyctics" to force update the setting in AEPIM.
Im using NoRootFirewall to catch the outbound Internet calls.
Latest version of AEPIM (But I have had this problem for long time, I just have not reported it)
Phone: Google Pixel6A
OS: GrapheneOS Android 14.

Could I block these specific 1e100.net-adresess, are these adresses just used by you or are they used by others also, for content delivery etc.

You can block any of the incoming or outgoing connections if necessary.

This is a long outstanding issue. See viewtopic.php?t=18931 (from 2017!). Maybe it's indeed something fishy going on here. The developers should take this issue more seriously, as this is probably a breach of GDPR!

1e100.net is a domain used by Google. Noone should be urged to block unwanted outgoing connections in a tool that contains private data such as a PIM!

The loss of data security is probably due to the switch to account-oriented data management. In my opinion, this also partially deprives users of the free disposal of their data and is certainly also responsible for the additional problems under EPIM.

Have we any news on this? I saw that this has been an issue for many years.
Why are Android contacting Google and what data is being sent?

The whole reason to buy and use EPIM is to not have any Google, stay offline and only use direct WiFi-sync.

Hope we can clear out this issue.
Best regards,
