How to disable new mail icon in taskbar
Is there away to not have this icon show-up when there's a new email?

Navigate to Tools -> Options -> Mail and click on the Open button next to the "New mail notifications" phrase. Thank you!

Yes, I did try that, but I don't have "New mail notifications" under my Notifications settings.

All the notification settings there are related to new mail.

Re: How to disable new mail icon in taskbar
First of all just to be sure what Windows version are you using?
I think since Windows 7 the following should work.
As written by Admin you have to go to tools -> options -> mail (module options).
In the middle you see the line "New mail notifications can be adjusted in system settings.
This line is followed by an [OPEN] button, click on that button and a windows settings window will open.
The "subline" in EPIM opens mentions scroll down until you (in the apps section of these Windows settings) see the EssentialPIM name.
Then you have 2 options;
- Like stated in the EPIM options screen click on the name EssentialPIM in the windows settings, the a new window will open where you can tune/set several settings concerning the notifications in the systemtray.
- Or you can just (as I did) disable all EssentialPIM options in the Windows settings by clicking on the active/inactive swith.
