Group by due date with no difference if a task is checked

Post by Ivy »

Hello,
in one of my task lists all the tasks are without due date.
The group-by option is "group by due date".
So when all tasks have no due date, why are the checked tasks shown separately?
Check or uncheck does not affect the due date.

Of course I could switch off the "group by due date", but I need this for another list
and I do not want to change this always when I switch to another list.

It seems not to be possible to store the group-by individually for every list.
That would be fine.

This is what I want to see:

This is what I see whith group-by-due-date althoug there is no due date in the tasks:

Can you help me? Are there options to change this?

Kind regards :-)

There's currently no feature that allows saving grouping individually for each list at the moment. However, we plan to introduce it in future versions of EPIM.

Hello, thank you for your answer. I'm looking forward to a future version, where it will be possible to save grouping individually for each list.
But you didn't explain why the checked tasks appear seperately from the not-checked. Checking does not affect the due date...?

It actually does. Once a task is completed, its due date doesn't matter anymore, and therefore it is being moved to the "Completed" section.

Of course the due date doesn't matter any more, but I still want to see the subtask under its supertask. A subtask that is moved to the completed section doesn't show to wich supertask it belonged. Please see the screenshots in the first article. And all the tasks and subtasks have no due date, so the duedate of the active tasks and the checked task are identical.

This is by design, and so far, there are no plans to change the current behavior, unfortunately. However, you can always disable grouping. By doing so, the task's location will not be affected.

Hi, thank you for your answer. Disabling the grouping helps only in one of my lists. For the other list, I decided to use another workaround. When using subtasks, I don't check the completed tasks. I give them the lowest priority. And because I'm sorting my taks by prio and title, they go to the bottom of the supertask. This is ok for me, because so I can see all subtasks, checked and unchecked.
I'm still thinking about if it was better to use teenotes instead of treetasks for this purpose...
