view for grouping and sorting tasks by multiple fields

Post by Ivy »

Hello,

in Outlook there are options to define views that show the tasks sorted and/or grouped by multiple fields.
I would really appreciate it if this option was also added in EPIM, because is is really important for me to group the tasks by due-date and sort them by priority and Name as shown on the screenshots.

Kind regards

Hi Ivy,

EPIM supports sorting tasks by multiple columns. In the Tasks module (using the columns you mentioned), click on the column header for due date, then ctrl-left click on priority, then ctrl-left click on name. You should see a small number in the priority and name column headers, indicating these are 2nd and 3rd in the sort order.

Hi DG,

thank you for your answer. I already found this tip some days ago in the forum.
It helped me but it is not really what I want.

This ctrl-klick-sort is olny temporary. It is not like a view that you can define (as standard) for your tasks.
A permanent view can only be defined for the group-setting. And the group-settings don't support grouping by multiple fields.
If they would, I could group by due-date AND priority.

OR - if the sort-settings were stored permanent, this would be enough for me. I could sort them once with ctrl-click
and have them always sorted this way.
It's annoying to resort my tasks everytime again and again when I open EPIM.
But I found no option so store my sort-order.

Thanks nevertheless and kind regards

Once you define your sorting order, it should stay as it is for a list no matter what, as you suggested. Is it not working like that on your side? Thank you.

It didn't stay.
Now it stays although I closed and reopened EPIM.
I don't know why it works now but I'm happy :-)
