Syncing with Nextcloud receiving invitation

Post by nunoleite »

Hi!

I have a problem synchronizing calendars with Nextcloud with events that are shared to me (i'm invited)... Let me explain...

User1 creates an event and then in the Attendees adds the User2.

This event now is synchronized with my calendar (user2). So far so good.

But if i (user2) change/move that event to another date using EssentialPIM, then it stops synchronizing that Calendar, it blocks the synchronization. Then i have to force/kill EssentialPIM and reopen again.

That event is never synchronized again... But if i change/move the event using the Nextcloud platform then it recognizes that event and reschedules that event to the new date.

As i can see this seems to be a bug with EssentialPIM, because using other software to sync calendars, like Thunderbird and Android Agenda these events are correctly synced.
It seems that other software blocks the editing of these events that the owner is another user, to prevent this from happeding, i can only delete the event from my calendar.
They even show the users in the details.

Can this be fixed? I don't know how...
But because i'm not the owner of the event it should be read only to me... I can only deleted from my calendar... Should this be the correct behavior?

Thanks

How does the event appear in the user's 2 Nextcloud calendar? Did he accept the invitation in some way?

Hi!

Yes, the event is accepted, and it appears as a normal event.

Thanks

Thanks. Did the user accept the event using EPIM or any other app?

Hi!

EPIM doesn't show any option to accept the event. The event was accepted online in the Nextcloud Calendar.

In EPIM the event just appeared, even before it was accepted.

Thanks

EPIM should display the option to either accept or reject the event when you receive an email message with the invitation. How do you typically accept an event online in Nextcloud? Does it occur within the same service?

Hi!

I don't use the Mail module of EPIM. Just Calendar, Tasks, Notes, Contacts.

The event is accepted online in the Nextcloud Calendar, by opening the event and then selecting Accept.

Thanks

I'm not sure I follow. Usually, to have the event shown in your Nextcloud calendar, you need to accept it via email first..

Please also forward us the sync log file after EPIM stops synchronizing the changed event. You can find it in Tools->Options under 'Logs Folder,' and look for the file starting with 'CalDAVSync.' Thank you!

No problem, perhaps that will be sufficient. Thanks!
