Add as child - currently not working
Notes Module: "Add as child" does not seem to work anymore. Can someone please check if they have the same problem... and maybe post a workaround. I used this feature all the time and now the manual placing eats up a lot of time
Using 11.6.5

Re: Add as child - currently not working
@ecsaltz Thank you for checking!
I tried optimizing the database > same problem.
But after a few more tests I got closer.... The problem seems to occurs only when "Local Notes" is highlighted. Once I select a specific list, everything works as expected.
The reason why "Local Notes" was highlighted is, that a standard search only seems to look in the active list.... that is why I am often in Local Notes vs a specific List. EDIT: just figured out that this is due to activated "respect hierarchy" which makes sense.
@admin is it normal behaviour that "add as child" does not work, while "Local Notes" is active?
EDIT2: sometimes it is necessary to activate "Local Notes" and turn off "respect hierarchy" when searching for a specific item. Once the search is done I have a problem to figure out where the note is located in my hierarchy. Is there a way to do that? Something like a "rightclick note > show in hierarchy"?

Re: Add as child - currently not working
Could you please let us know how you are trying to perform the "add as child" function? Are you attempting to do it via a shortcut, using a right-click, or through some other method?
Regarding the quick search, it is designed to search throughout all the available note lists, allowing you to find the desired information more efficiently.
Additionally, after completing the search, you have the option to highlight a selected note. By canceling the search, you will be able to see where the note belongs to in the list, providing you with a clearer context.

Highlight the parent note > right click > add as child !admin wrote: Mon Aug 21, 2023 11:46 am Could you please let us know how you are trying to perform the "add as child" function?
I also tried Highlighting the Parent note and use the "ins" hotkey - same result.
again: if "local Notes" is active, the new note will be created at the top level - not as a child.
if any other list is active, it works as desired.
If you need additional info, please let me know.
Thank you! This works.admin wrote: Mon Aug 21, 2023 11:46 am Additionally, after completing the search, you have the option to highlight a selected note. By canceling the search, you will be able to see where the note belongs to in the list, providing you with a clearer context.

Re: Add as child - currently not working
We are still unable to reproduce the issue. Could you please check if you encounter the same problem on EPIM 11.6.6 as well? If so, would you mind recording a short video of the process? It's possible that we might be missing something when trying to replicate it on our end.
