Calendar View entry type colors

Post by SkipHill »

Wondering if anyone has figured out how to get entry types (Tasks, Birthdays, etc) in Calendar to show background colors. There's a right click option for color in the Calendar view of these things included in the calendar. It shows on the left sidebar when selected, but not in the calendar itself.

Am I missing something?

In Tools/Options/Calendar: Display categories as: Filled in background
Will this help?

Thanks for the tip, I had not found that option, but it's apparently on by default. And that does work, IFF the tasks or birthdays are all set to that category. In the Calendar view where the list of calendars and event types is displayed, you can right click a color, but that doesn't do anything I can detect. Nice if it would, they would all be done at once. If there's a default category for types of events, I have not found that.

If the option "Filled in background" is selected, events will be colored based on their categories. If the option "Color boxes" is selected, events will be colored based on their associated calendar colors.

Ah Ha! That's it. Not exactly intuitive option, but it works as you describe and expected. So basically, I can either color backgrounds based on categories of individual calendar entries, or based on calendar selections.

Thanks for clarifying, makes sense now.

using EPIM Pro always in dark mode. Since the update to 11.5.1 all appointments with no category came up with black text on white background. How can I go back to the previous version, or change the default background color for "No Category"?
