Syncing only with one device in the same network?

Post by DaxAtDS9 »

Hi,

My configuration: WEpim on two devices (windows pc and windows laptop). Database is in dropbox. iEpim on iPhone.

Step 1: Active WEpim on Pc (laptop is off)
- Starting sync on pc
- starting iEpim
- iEpim is searching for device to sync with.
- pc is found,
- startbutton appears
- syncing possible

Step 2: Active WEpim on laptop (pc is off)
- Starting sync on laptop
- starting iEpim
- no sync device displaying
- no asking for sync device
- laptop isn’t shown
- no startbutton
- syncing impossible

Seems that iEpim couldn’t connect to another device, if it has already connected to a device before in the same network. I’ve no chance to connect to second device on iEpim.

Did I make a mistake.
What can I do?

Has synchronization been added to EPIM on your laptop? If yes, please check if the sync port number is different from the one used on your PC. To do this, go to Tools > Options > Synchronization, iPhone.

I’ll try. Are there any restrictions for ports?

Nope, although we recommend the port numbers to be close to each other, for instance let them be 21114 and 21115.
