Save message window size & aspect ratio?

Post by lphilpot »

EPIM 11.2.4 on Windows 11

Is there a way to save (or otherwise specify) a default size / aspect ratio of the window when I open a message or compose a new email?

My monitor is 16x9 (1902x1080) and apparently EPIM must use that ratio to set the default "normalized" (i.e., not maximized nor minimized) window aspect ratio, because every time I open a new window it's that shape. I have to resize it into something more square, since 16x9 is a very poor shape for reading and writing.

Is there any way to set another aspect ratio / size as the default, so I don't have to resize every last window I open? I don't mind editing the registry if that will do it.

Thanks.

Your last used window size should be remembered and used the next time you compose/reply/forward an email message. If that's not how it works for you, please specify whether you use an installable or portable edition of EPIM.

Backup your EPIM.ini file (it's here: C:\Users\your_Windows_username\AppData\Roaming\EssentialPIM Pro), then remove it and start EPIM. Check if the issue is still there. If it is, record a small video demonstrating the problem, please.

[Solved] re: Save message window size & aspect ratio?

Well, never mind I guess. Now it's working. Yesterday it wasn't, repeatedly. But today I've done it several times and it's working. Oh well...

Thanks.

...and now it's not again. No idea why, but it's reverted back to the same aspect ratio as the screen, for both new and reply messages. Nothing has changed otherwise on my computer.

Try to remove the INI file (make a backup of it first), EPIM will create a new one upon next start.
