I think there may be a data mess on your EPIM Cloud account. We can clear it up for you or you can sync it with the new empty EPIM DB, check what kind of data you get into WinEPIM. Then you can remove all the erroneous data from WinEPIM and sync again, in this case you're going to end up with a normal set of data in EPIM Cloud which you will then be able to sync with your existing EPIM database.

Guten Morgen,

Good morning,
yes please do that and reset the cloud.
I will need a few more days to reconstruct the database.

But how can it happen that after the synchronization the contacts organized in groups are no longer included in the groups?

The same applies to the notes. They were also removed from the groups = tree during synchronization and then became unassigned tasks.

The error is probably in the synchronization with the Android app.

At least it is not reproducibly possible to keep the contacts of the Android system separate from the Epim contacts.
In principle, all contacts are imported, although I previously answered the relevant queries with NO.

There are also problems with the categories in the calendar. My default categories have also been removed and replaced with undefined or sometimes untagged categories.

Then I would like to ask you to explain how the data structure is set up in your cloud in order to organize the reconstruction of the Epim database accordingly.
Please also explain how the unexpected menus/outline points with Cyrillic writing are created.

I have already documented all these facts in this thread with screenshots.

Guten Morgen,

Good morning,
and another sorrowful day with EPim.
I urge you to answer the questions from my last post!
Then the next problem:
Access to secured databases is NO longer possible.
A username and password are now required.
A username was never assigned. Just a password that I know. How can this be solved with the required user?

No, since last year I have only been synchronizing via the EPim Cloud.

Is that a password prompt for EPIM Cloud? If so, your username is your email address.

No, it's a regular Epim-file saved in Windows 10.
Nevertheless, I would like to ask you to answer my questions about the data structure.

For data structure in the cloud we use a combination of CalDAV, CardDAV and WebDAV protocols.

The protocols are, hopefully, not the problem.

I am concerned with the structure of the data to be synchronized. I don't want to experience anything like what is shown in the pictures again.
I want to understand the difference between local data and EPIM Cloud data.
There may only be ONE database, otherwise data inconsistency is foreseeable.
Why was a second structure (EPIM Cloud) created at all? Was there a time without it?

Only data from EPIM Cloud account will be synchronized with the cloud.
This is why I don´t synchronize anymore with EPIM Cloud, since the introduciion of this feature. I tried it, but it didn´t work.
Anyway- I want to have the same data (regarding only CALENDAR, not other modules) on my desktop, EPIM Cloud and my Fairphone.
Should I have the same calendar data on three accounts: local, Cloud, Fairphone??

That seems to be the cause of all the trouble.
When was that changed? I don't want it like that!
I just want ONE calendar, ONE to-do list and ONE module with notes.
I would also like to be able to access my backed up data again. It doesn't go any further here either. What did I buy all the Pro Business Lifetime licenses for?

I don't want to talk about the chaos that was caused when synchronizing with the Android data.

Am I the only one using EPim so excessively? I can't really imagine that. Do I really have to ask the editors of 'ct bei Heise for help?

So I have the following questions:

How are you currently syncing?
  • Do you use or have you used the online version of the EPim Cloud, based on Owncloud?
  • Do you use EPim's native Android app or do you sync directly with Fairphone's operating system (e.g. Fairphone Open)?
  • If you use the native app, is it also the case with you that ALL contacts from the phone operating system are always synchronized? I have the problem that I have denied the queries, but the Android app STILL has incorporated all the contacts stored on the device.
Unfortunately, ALL groups were dissolved. A reply from @admin is still pending here.
