IMAP duplicated folders

Post by ConLand »

For some reason my two IMAP accounts have folder structure duplicated in "Inbox", so I have two copies of Inbox, Sent Items, Trash. Please see the attached structure created in EPIM and the correct structure as seen in Outlook.

This is very irritating as it means mails can't be located quickly and may even result in data loss.

Can you please comment?

Is that an IMAP type of account? If so, you may try to:
1. Remove and re-add it into EPIM.
2. Choose not to show duplicated folders by clicking on the Manage Folders button on the toolbar.

I tried to re-add the IMAP account and the error persists.

This is much more serious than just to remove duplicated folders, because the two "Sent" folders have different mails in them! So you have to have both to have all mails.

For email reliability this is not good. Any way to fix this?

Forward us the mail log file, please. The one that gets created after you re-add your mail account into EPIM and sync your mail for the first time.

This turned out to be an artifact on the IMAP server. I believe another Email client made these folders under Inbox, and EPIM uses them while Outlook uses the main ones.

I'll merge and remove, and report back if EPIM still has issues.
