Two check boxes in Today view

Post by paulvp »

Hello
I've just updated to version 11.0.1 Pro and have noticed that in the'Today' view, for any appointment that has been assigned a category, there are now two check boxes next to the appointment. The second check box appears to be related to the fact that a category has been assigned and disappears if the category is removed from the appointmat. I can't seem to interact with the second check box (the one one the right) and so was wondering what it's purpose is? Screenshot attached.

I'm on Windows 10 Pro 21H2 and EssentialPIM has been installed as a portable app.

Thanks
Paul vP

Yes, that's the category color.

OK, fair enough but the entire appointment is in the category colour. What purpose does the extra box serve?

Depending on the settings an extra box should show the category color and the background color should equal to the calendar's color or vice versa. Although this doesn't seem to be working quite right at the moment. Will improve this in the next version.

When you use the background color setting in options, I agree it is extra.
BUT
If you disable the background color of the category, than you see that the box remains and like in the Agenda displays the category color.

So the first box is the completed yes/no box.
The second box is the category

For me it works as it should, I do not see any problem.

If you choose to display categories as filled in background in the calendar's options, then you're going to face sort of duplicate representation of the categories (as with the background color as with the colored boxes) like it's shown on Paul's screenshot.

Thanks PeCe and admin. It's making sense now :). If I use colour boxes instead of filled in background, is it possible to change the background colour in the Today view? At the moment I can only find a way to change the background colour for the Calendar view.

If I look at this earlier reply from Admin this will be improved in a next version.
At the moment you can not change the background color in the today view if you use colour boxes.
