Ctrl + Space and Alt + Space

Post by VictorParkerPIM »

Insert current date and time quickly in last used format using a shortcut (Ctrl+Space by default)
That's the way I always thought it should work.
A great addition would be to use Alt + Space to pull up the Date Menu, to change to another date format.

I really like the 10.1 update, it is very close to perfect. :D

Thanks for the suggestion, although Alt+Space will not likely work as usually the upper menu gets highlighted when you press on the Alt button. Will think about adding another shortcut for that.

Shift + Space would be my next choice.

I was wondering whether the shortcut to insert the date / time in the last format could be made into a variable that we could assign like we do to other keys in the shortcut menu?

Todd, You can already assign a new shortcut like we do other keys in the shortcut menu.
It's in the Options menu.

I see a changeable shortcut for Insert Date and Time under the global shortcuts, but I would like to change the key used in the check box at the bottom of the insert-date dialog box that says "Use Shift + Space to insert date and time in last used format". That combination causes me problems when I'm typing sometimes.

Check box at the bottom of the insert-date dialog box that says "Use Shift + Space to insert date and time in last used format".

Looks like check box and Shift+Space to insert date and time has been removed in Ver. 11.5 Bata1

Admin,
VictorParkerPIM, the checkbox is still there in 11.5 Beta1.

I have not found the checkbox in the Options Menu.
