Calendar view, major drawback

I've been testing the latest version of essentialpim. I'm not very impressed by the calendar.
Compared to the current software that I use (doogie), I see a major limitation: when I change the number of active hours in a day, the space between the lines doesn't resize. Instead, I have to scroll down to see what I'm doing in that particular day or switch to weekly agenda view, which is rather limited.
Why can't you just resize the space betwen the hours? or get rid of the half hours and use full hours only, so that twice as many hours fit in the view?
Also, why can't I assign or add my own icons to different activities in the calendar so that they're much easier to identify?
Sadly, I think essentialpim has a long way to go to make a good calendar.
