Does EPIM Sync With Outlook Attachments?

HI

When I create a synchronization with Outlook Desktop Version, tasks, etc sync into EPIM fine. However, none of the attachments in the original Outlook tasks show up in EPIM. Is this a bug, or a limitation of EPIM? In other words, are outlook attachments suppose to sync into EPIM?

The same is true when I sync email from an Exchange Server: The emails from outlook load into EPIM fine, but have no attachments in EPIM??

Thank you

This is by design, EPIM doesn't sync attachments with Outlook. If there's more requests about this, we will certainly consider implementing this feature.

However, emails should be fine in that regard and with attachments. Do you sync them form the Mail module?

For my team's use case this is important. For reference our workflow is:
  • Thus far we use Outlook for emails
  • When we receive an "action" email (requires some work from us), we press a toolbar icon which runs a visual basic macro that copies the email text into a new task, attaches any attachments from the email into the task and places a copy of the actual email (.msg) as an attachment in the task.
  • Then we file/delete the email and work from the task. If we want to reply to the original email, it is inside the task.

We would LOVE to use EPIM's more advanced task capabilities. But as you can see without the outlook attachments its not useful.

If you decide to add this functionality for attachments in tasks, I'll happily share my macro to all of your users :P

Yes, I use the Mail module, however for some reason the email attachments dont sync. Because of the workflow above, I have not been overly concerned with the email aspect of EPIM

Thanks again for your reply. If you are interested in the above workflow Im happy to help.

Understood, thanks very much for description of the workflow.

As for email, would it be possible to get a test mail account for us? Will check it out as to why there's no mail attachments in EPIM, this should be working.

Yes and I appreciate your willingness to help troubleshoot. When you say "test mail account" what do you mean? Do you want me to create an exchange account for you? Does it make sense to switch to PM or private email?

Thanks for your assistance.

Yep, a test exchange account should do the trick. Please forward its credentials to me via a private message here in the forum. Thank you!

An I correct you just need the email address, UN/PW and server address and NOT the Microsoft user credentials? For reference we have office 365 outlook desktop and our exchange is hosted by Intermedia.

Assuming so, we try to get this this evening, but otherwise it will be next week doe to schedules...

Thanks
