Feature suggestion: Task shortcut

Post by karelt2016 »

Hi,
I have (IMHO) a beautiful idea for ePIM.

I will use a Windows term 'shortcut'. Shortcut is an icon you can place anywhere (e.g. your desktop) to access any file or any application. You can have any number of shortcuts to any number of files or applications.
You may already see where I am getting at.

Imagine that a new task can be actually a shortcut to some other task! It surely isn't an easy thing to write but IMHO it is also not the most difficult.
The hypothetical workflow is shown on the attached screenshots.

What you get by this is an enormous flexibility that is hard to describe briefly.
-Firstly you get something like a multi-parent tree environment. On Windows for example Ultra Recall does it, but on Android? Nobody AFAI.
-You can create pinboards (e.g. list of tasks you need to do today) without the need to move anything to the pinboard. (Microsoft To Do does this with its Add To My Day feature on Android).
-etc

Seemingly a small change can give ePIM great capabilities.

Hope you agree :-)

Best regards,
Karel

Thanks very much for the suggestion, looks very interesting. Will surely consider implementing it in the new versions.
Android version of EssentialPIM. Keep all your data in sync!
