Sync issue between google drive and android PIM

Post by hanct »

Hi,

My google drive has 1 folder called "HDB" as shown in the below screnshot.
See first screenshot

Yet each time , i click "Sync Now" when i am in the below screenshot of my android essentialPIM (non-pro), i get a duplicate HDB added. Interestingly, other sibling folders encounter no such issue.
See second screenshot.

I am not in the hurry to solve this duplicate issue on my handphone, so I will just wait and see if the developer of the essentialPIM need any logs or whatsover they need from me to assist them to resolve this duplication phenomenon on the android essentialPIM(v5.5.1). So meanwhile, I will not do anything by myself to resolve this issue yet.

*I am using essentialPIM desktop (v8.0.2, latest vesion) to sync to google drive. And then use google drive to sync down to android

Can I ask, does any user has issue encountering similar duplication issue on other cloud drive, such as onedrive? If dont have, i was thinking of using one drive instead.

Are there same contents for all duplicate folders? And once folders are duplicated in AEPIM, there's still just a single folder in Google Drive?

Hi,

My google drive is still only one single folder, when folders are duplicated each time i click "sync now" in my android.
By the way, the HDB folder is actually empty, hence no content.

*If u need me to put content inside, as part of investigation, do let me know, I will be glad to do so.

Is onedrive a sync option in epim?

Was it initially created by EPIM or you created it yourself? In any case, if there's no data and that's the only folder causing troubles, feel free to simply delete it.

Not at the moment. Will consider implementing it if there's enough requests from the users.

The hdb fiolder is created by me, via essential pim desktop. But the problem is I cannot delete the empty folder, just because it does not contain data. User might want to create the empty folder as placeholder to remind himself to put something inside.

Anyway I try to delete the empty folder, and recreate a new empty one again..and see if the issue resurface

Please do that. I think there will be no duplicates anymore if you create a new empty one.
