Repeat options not working for recurring items.

I'm using EssentialPIM Portable Free 7.53 and have found an issue with existing recurring items and repeating options.

Open a recurring item as "Open the series" and you'll notice that even though the "Repeat every" checkbox is ticked, the "Appointment Repeat" options button is still disabled.

Even if you disable and enable the "Repeat every" checkbox, the "Appointment Repeat" options button stays disabled.

This work fine for a newly created recurring items, but older recurring items have the issue.

I've saved the file and optimized the database, but the issue remains.

Hello,

there might be numerous reasons why it happens. E.g. database was created in Pro version.
To figure out the issue, try reproducing it on a new database. If unsuccessful, the issues is related to your particular database and we would need a video of how you create the appointment and screenshot of File-> Database Management window

Well, no matter why the issue happens, how do I fix it?

How can I create a new database in Free version and restore everything to it automatically removing everything that might have been created in the Pro version to leave intact just the free version stuff in the new database?

I have been using this current database for a LONG time, this is what the "This database was opened in" shows: 3.21, 3.22, 3.23, 3.51, 3.52, 3.53, 3.54, 3.7, 3.72, 3.74, 4.0, 4.01, 4.02, 4.2, 4.21, 4.22, 4.23, 4.24, 4.53, 5.0, 5.01, 5.02, 5.03, 5.5, 5.51, 5.52, 5.53, 5.54, 5.55, 5.56, 5.57, 5.8, 5.81, 5.82, 6.0, 6.01, 6.02, 6.03, 6.04, 6.05, 6.06, 6.51, 6.52, 6.53, 6.54, 6.55, 6.56, 6.57, 6.58, 7.0, 7.1, 7.12, 7.13, 7.2, 7.21, 7.22, 7.23, 7.24, 7.5, 7.51, 7.52, 7.53

I'd just like a new error free database with just the free version options/fields/views/etc.

The steps I listed do not suggest restoring your database to a new database.
you need to make a new clean database and reproduce the issue on it (without touching your existing database)
To figure out the issue, try reproducing it on a new database. If unsuccessful, the issues is related to your particular database and we would need a video of how you create the appointment and screenshot of File-> Database Management window

You're not being very easy to deal with Max, I have to say honestly.

I was asking if I can create a new database and restore to it to fix the issues so that we don't have to play this back and forth game over many weeks. Can this be done or not? Its a simple question.

Also, why do you need a video of how I create an appointment, I can just tell you here with words and pictures... I just go to the desired date by using the "Go to date" option and then I double click the white space just below the date (or just double click on any time) to get the "New Appointment" window.

I just reproduced the issue on a new database.
So glad, as it proves I'm not going crazy.

Once I made the appointment, set it to yearly repeat on same date, no ending expiry, category to Annivesary, fill in subject and notes and clicked on. The appointment was created, however trying to open it as a series still has the "Appointment Repeat" options disabled.

Also tried without category, same issue.

Its so easy to reproduce, now if you can please fix it.

I have had this problem from the beginning on all versions. I keep thinking that it is something I am doing wrong or it is something I don't know about the program. It is something that happens at random, sometimes weeks apart. Seems like when you put a check in a box it should stay there until the user changes it. It's not just in recurring items, check boxes in options gets unchecked quiet often. May happen during program updates, but not noticed until days later.
Same problem on different systems.

Thank you for the database and screenshots. Since this is reproducable on a new database, it makes no sense to synchronize to a new database. We are investigating.

Hi Max. I'd like to do this new database thing anyway just to refresh things up and ensure future issues don't happen.

Just tell me regardless of the other solution. It may help others in some way also, and I've already asked you so many times already.

The same issues are still happening on the new database.
