7.22: Backup on a network drive does not work

I have assigned a drive letter to a network drive for the automatic backup. Backup from EPIM fails (automatic and manual), claiming database would be corrupted or drive would be full (EPIM Pro Business 7.22, Win 10 on both sides). I have tried the complete path (\\...), also fails. Can anybody confirm this? Other software running under the same user (admin) can use these paths. EPIM has no problem doing a local backup. Thanks! Michael

Really there's a number of issues with built-in backups when you are using network features, truthfully you are much better off making your own backup script or using some other 3rd party tools. Seems like the manual for EPIM even recommends using a third party solution when using the network edition for backups due to reliability issues.

Local backup seems very reliable. From there I use SyncbackPro now, over Hamachi (VPN).

Hello,

please do not use EPIM's backup functionality for Networked databases, as advised in Help file: http://www.essentialpim.com/help/backingup.htm
Any application for backing up Firebird database would be better.

Max, EPIM is running on a terminal server (one admin, few users). Only for the one admin account the backup functionality is activated by SYSDBA, generating a backup every 3 hours. This backup is then copied to other PCs. Do you think, this is unreliable to begin with? Thanks!

In this case (local backup only) it may work well, indeed.

I use SyncbackPro and it works quite well for me to be honest.
