Template to add to emailmessages

Post by RuudO »

Woud be nice - working with epim 7.21 under Windows 10 - to have a template to add to the mail. A sort of signature.
With text, greeting, name and a small picture.

I made some template, but it's not working with mail. Only copy past of the model.

Possible ?

You can make a signature, with text, picture and so on. Just go in "Tools/Account settings", click on your account, "Edit/signature"- here can you edit your signature, just as you like.
Another possibillity (but not necessary, when you have a signature) would be: Write a new message- just as you like it to have as a template- save as draft (file/save as). then you have your template in the drafts folder. To use this template just go to the template in drafts, click on "forward" (actions/forward - or right mouse-click), and write your mail with this template.......

Actually, Pro version has a feature to have templates in Mail- just start creating new mail and use File-> Save As-> Template
That will be saved in special email folder called "Template"

It automatically creates an Templates entry in your local folder list.
If you double click an entry from this folder its opened
and you can use it to send a new mail with or without modifications..

When I doubleclick a message in the templates folder, it just opens up the message just like any other email. There's no place to add a recipient, etc.

What I want to do st doubleclick on the template so it opens a new email message so I can enter the recipient, cc, bcc, etc.

In experimenting, this actually happened one time, but I cannot seem to replicate this action no matter where (which column) I click.

Can someone help me? I think this functionality is there, but I just can't find it! :?

When you double click on an email from the Templates folder it opens up in an editing mode and you can add recipients, etc., to the message, as well as change its contents.

That's the behavior I'm expecting but it's not happening...

I just updated to 10.0 this morning and it's still the same as before 9.10.8

Might be a database specific issue. Please check if the same happens on a newly created database and if so, forward it to us.

I saved an email as a template no problem but how does one get that template into an email when replying to an email.
The whole idea is to replay with a standard reply and i can't do that with a signature because i need more than 1 standard reply for different subjects.

The Canned Responses feature is what you need then. See the following topic in the help file for more info: https://www.essentialpim.com/help/working_with_mail.htm ("Templates and Canned Responses" header).

It often happens that I receive an email of which I still know exactly what it is about at that moment, but have forgotten it after a week.

Then I would like to put a yellow note (or normally white ;-) ) on it where you could briefly write the statement, and then keep the total.
Can that also work with this?
