Hi,
There are 2 PC in one room, both XP Pro SP3, connected in LAN, in one workgroup, they see each other, there is full connectivity between.
Installed Network versions on both to use one database simult.
The Firebird server and the database are on the PC number 1.
The problem is that PC 2 cannot open the database.
When connecting to it via server I get this message:
When connecting directly via LAN, and opening the file with database I get this message:
Please note that in the both cases there is something wrong with the message quoting the path. I provide the path
\\Trinitylab1\Docs\Dodatki\Trinity Lab\Bazy\EPIM\Trinitylab.epim
The message shows:
"1\Docs\Dodatki\Trinity Lab\Bazy\EPIM\Trinitylab.epim
or
"D:ocs\Dodatki\Trinity Lab\Bazy\EPIM\Trinitylab.epim"
I have no idea if it matters.
I will be grateful for any advice, and the solution.
Regards,
Piotr

Hello,
the path to database in Plik Bazy is wrong. Put the full path to database as it lies on the server. E.g. d:\database

Re: Pro Network: client PCs cannot open the database
Max, thanks a lot for your appreciated support.
Here is what I get when changing "Docs" (the name of the drive E) to "E" Just explaining: Trinitylab1 = the name of the PC with the server and the database
The server and the database works fine on it.
I am trying to connect from Trinitylab3 (the PC name in the group) to the database on Trinitylab1.
Here is the full path as it is seen in EPIMPro server connection on Trinitylab1:
localhost:E:\Dodatki\Trinity Lab\Bazy\EPIM\Trinitylab.epim
Thanks in advance for your kindness,
Piotr

Just use
E:\Dodatki\Trinity Lab\Bazy\EPIM\Trinitylab.epim
no \\Trinitylab1
E:\Dodatki\Trinity Lab\Bazy\EPIM\Trinitylab.epim
no \\Trinitylab1

Thanks, Maxim, works!
If you are in Warsaw I owe you a good beer from a small, nice brewery. Just let me know.
