We recently updated epim network version 3.x to the most recent version and got the following error
Unsuccesdsful metadataupdate Table Noteicons already exist.
This version was no longer accessing a network file. It was trying to access a local file by the normal File,Open method. Everything worked before the upgrade.
Any thoughts.
Thanks
Glenn

Re: unsuccessful metadata update error
It is confusing. You updated the Network version, but tried to open the file using File-> Open. The proper method to upgrade the Network database is to login with SYSDBA from a new version.

Re: unsuccessful metadata update error
We haven't used epim in it's network role for awhile because of speed issues. However, the updated version can access old network files via the server. It can create new files. What it can not do is access the file it was accessing before using any method [either server or open]. We get the error message. We would really like to be able to salvage the data.

Re: unsuccessful metadata update error
Just to be sure- the file must be on the same computer, then use FIle-> Open to open it. If it causes error, the only way is to send the file to us, we can try to restore it.

Hi Max
no solutions worked. Where do I send the file to see if you can fix it?
thanks
