Hello,

whether dynamic or optimum column width, there should always be an option to deactivate the function.

Just as I would like to deactivate the first line of the list views for entering new data records.

For productive work, I prefer a clear interface that presents the available data as clearly as possible without excessive additional functions in the data area.

Additional functions should be arranged outside the data overview (function bars ...), for an undisturbed view of the most important thing - the data.

Everyone, please see my previous reply about the additional option to disable dynamic column sizing in the following post: https://www.essentialpim.com/forum/view ... 65#p138365

Regarding the other option proposed by M&M (removing the "add new items" line), I suggest creating a separate thread to post this request. This will help us better monitor user interest in the suggestion.

Have a look to the screenshot I did from last picture of video! It shows a cut off time. Showing "17:1"
Going back in video a bit you see, that I did a doubleclick on devider, which let me see the full time "17:15". After restart of program in video the character "5" had been cut off, due to reduced column width. This is visible in video!
I also did not understand what happens in the video you provided.

It doesn't work, now useless.

Please revert the changes.

I save the custom view as default (names look OK, so I can see whose record it is) but when I type in Search box, it again shows this shrinked view of columns, which is pointless, as I can't see the results while searching. After leaving the Search box it also shows shrinked width.

More to it, I want to use my saved custom view, I apply it, no results.

Please fix the bug ASAP, this doesn't allow to work. Each and every time I use contacts, I have to manually set the width of basic columns with names, to see the records.

OK, it is really bad:

I am trying to apply View 1 (custom view var) but it automatically switches to default. No chance to use custom view.

Also, can anybody explain what this new thing gives to any user?
No columns names visible, only first letters at best,
no fields content visible.
So what does it give to users at all? How can I use this new type of view?

The update is being rolled out in stages, as usual. You can either wait for it to reach you automatically or you can visit the download page, manually download the latest version and install it over your current one.

I can only agree with trinitylab!

At last ! ! !

The automatic adjustment of the column width can at least be switched off in 12.2.1.

In my opinion, however, the automatic adjustment of the column width is also responsible for other display problems and I doubt whether these will be solved by deactivating the automatic adjustment of the column width.

I'm sticking with 12.1.4 as this version is reasonably stable.

Now 12.2.1

Nearly same bad as before:

I have to MANUALLY set the width of each column I want to see the content from,
and now it is retained after Search.

Still no answer from any user what is the purpose of the new view:
not seeing any column name,
not seeing any content in any column.

Once again, please: who knows what I can do with this?

12.2.1 has finally fixed the automatic adjustment of the column width - we can work with EPIM again.

I upgraded to v12.2.1 build 1042 with the option to disable dynamic column sizing. I have disabled it and this has resolved the trouble I was having with columns randomly resizing. Thank you.
