better presentation/display of holidays! ideas
i have no idea how to show now holidays nice way but have ideas how it should be.
holidays should be displayed this way or by user setting:
(EDIT: epim today in red (font) between date and week day, over the appointments!)
other views: red background
there are some holidays which are not really free, like 24.12 or 31.12., you can shop but shorter.
they should be possible to show as other holidays category, with other colors, lighter red.
the holiday color should be customizable, as some may want green as symbol for free time, however.
i just started putting holidays by hand and have no idea how to let them show in epimToday between date and weekday, which makes very much sense.
propably you have to implement it (first).
thanx

Re: better presentation/display of holidays! ideas
You can already assign a customized category to holidays or create a separate calendar dedicated to them.
Android version of EssentialPIM. Keep all your data in sync!
Re: better presentation/display of holidays! ideas
This is very individual. For me it is quite perfect as it is- I even not use "Today" at all. For me calendar is suficcient. I have some different coloured categories, for notes, birthdays, hollidays.... I even use different categories for birthdays of "important" and "not so important" people for me.i have no idea how to show now holidays nice way but have ideas how it should be.
@admin: I suggest aggain, to have different types of categories for emails and calendar! For example I have to use RED for: important birthdays in calendar- AND for important mails!
Re: better presentation/display of holidays! ideas
i have no idea of that, but however.admin wrote: Thu Dec 26, 2024 10:47 am You can already assign a customized category to holidays or create a separate calendar dedicated to them.
(EDIT: @ADMIN: you seem to overseen the first chapter of my post!)
the holiday should appear in epim/today in the middle between date and weekday over the appointments of the day.
do you mean it works now somehow or do i missunderstood it?
thanx

Re: better presentation/display of holidays! ideas
a8907433, you can create two separate red categories if that's what you need. However, I'm not sure we understand the reason for having separate categories for each EPIM module. Could you explain your reasoning?
AJ, I'm not quite sure what you mean by "the holiday should appear in epim/today in the middle between date and weekday over the appointments of the day." Could you create a mockup image to illustrate your idea? This would help us understand it better.

Re: better presentation/display of holidays! ideas
Well, that is easy to understand I think: In Emailmodule you can have for example 5 different colours and they stand for "important", "very important", "login data in email", "Eric" and "Susan". In Calendar you may want to have also 5 different colours for: "important", "very important", "Holliday", "birthday" and "personal".a8907433, you can create two separate red categories if that's what you need. However, I'm not sure we understand the reason for having separate categories for each EPIM module. Could you explain your reasoning?
I worked in emails with tags before categories were introduced. Then came categories and I found them usefull for categorising notes in calendar (in appointments). Then I found it usefull to also have categories in mail. Now I have for example category red (holiday in calendar) and also the same red category "holiday" for Susan......
Categories are very usefull for distinguishing different items in different modules- but they have different meanings in different modules! I don´t want to have too many colours and there are not as manydifferent "reds" which you can easily distiguish on first sight. So I want to have (for example) the same red category for mail and for calendar, but they should be differentiated some kind... easily distiguished this is the "red category Susan" in mails, or this is the "red category holiday" in calendar!
It´s just because of different needs and meanings in different modules!
I hope this is explained easy....

it would be this way:
Wednesday New Year 01.01.2025 above the following appointments for the day.
you just put the holidays name between weekday and date so it's better visability!
it should work this way if i create holidays myself, they should be shown there but in english you say also holidays if you take free time at work. i'm on holidays. it could be inconsistent category in english, but now you should really understand where it's to show. hopefully.

do you now understand as i wrote how the top line of a day with a holiday should look like?
repeat to be sure; example, new year:
'Wednesday New Year 01.01.2025'
above the following appointments for the day.
for added holidays as category holiday. not sure how you seperate it in english version from on vacations, which you propably have second category holidays or how? this doesn't affect me, as not engl.
thanx

Thanks for the suggestion, AJ. While there are currently no immediate plans to implement this change, we appreciate your input.

because of the bright i canceled the position idea, but
it would make sense to have the days/numbers of 'holidays' in epim/today left side calendars in red font!
example: the 'whole day' and 'new year' should be red font!
consider for feature! keep in mind!
thanx
