EssentialPIM 12.1 RC is Here!

We're excited to announce that EssentialPIM 12.1 is now available as a Release Candidate. This major update brings a host of new features and improvements:

Calendar enhancements:

EssentialPIM 12.1 RC. To have EssentialPIM download the 12.1 RC version for you, go to Tools -> Options, and under the General section, select the Beta Channel for updates.

Although I had selected Beta Channel in options, program never offered downloading RC. So I did manually

This seems like a bug. Thank you for bringing it to our attention!

UPDATE: Apologies for the confusion, I spoke too soon. You need to click on either the Apply or OK button in the settings dialog for the changes to be applied.

In my case the beta channel was active for many months. There was no need for changes in the dialog. Still RC was not offered.

Did you check for updates manually or were you relying on an auto-update feature to notify you about the update?

As the autoupdate didnot react until end of last week, I checked manually, and as this check didnot offer anything as well, I used your link.

So when you checked for updates manually from EPIM, did the app simply display a message indicating that there were no updates available at that moment? If so, are you sure you were on the Beta update channel? The server logs indicate that update requests are being processed normally and the RC1 update is available for download.

Yes program displayed message with no update available. And I am sure being on beta channel at that time, as I always am.
Well lets see next time

Using RC, when starting program, I got an error (see screenshot) several times now (not at every start).
Restart always did an inconsistancy check and program went on working.
Space for backup is enough, as backup is done on drive only (not cloud).

Could you please let us know what the error message says? Additionally, it would be helpful if you could forward us the backup log file.

File comes, as soon as it happens again.
Screenshot says, that backup failed either due to space or because db musst be checked. Restart to check and save db.

EPIM saves the last three log files, so the log file containing the probable cause of the issue should still be available. Please take a moment to check it.
