Past events not grayed out

EPIM doesn't darken the color of past events automatically in monthly view, so, when quickly glancing at my calendar, I see all the bright colors of past events and future, and can't easily distinguish FUTURE events from PAST. I need AUTOMATIC DARKENING of past event text AS WELL AS darkening of any color associated with each event. (i.e., don't just darken the text, but the whole color-block around the text, also
I'm using a Galaxy A54 5G w Android 14, AND separately I'm also using a Galaxy S10+ SM-G975U1 with Android 12.0 w system-wide dark theme and a system-wide dark theme.

Here is an example of the current confusion, and a different version in which I have MANUALLY grayed out the background colors of past events
