... and more problems ...

In the contact preview different font sizes are used for both the field name and the content of the field.

Bild 3.png

In addition, existing links to the calendar are sometimes not displayed in the contacts. A number is displayed for the links to the calendar, but the corresponding appointments do not appear.

In this context, I also noticed that appointments for participants are not linked to the participants' appointments. In order to link the appointment to the person, an additional link to the person must be created in the appointment dialog - it could hardly be more complicated and the process has nothing to do with productivity.

EPIM 12 seems to harbor a few more bugs under the surface.

This is the same confirmed issue you mentioned earlier:

To help us reproduce the issues on our end, we require more specific details, screenshots or videos for each of the mentioned points.

Thank you.
1. This has been by design until now. We will consider adding the requested feature in the future updates.
2. Can you reproduce this issue? If yes, could you please provide a list of steps?

Hello,

2. Unfortunately, I cannot understand why the linked appointments are “partially” not displayed in the contacts. I noticed this when I was looking for an appointment with a contact and looked under the linked appointments for the contact and could not find the appointment. I then noticed that the number of appointments shown by EPIM did not correspond to the number of appointments displayed - the number of appointments shown was higher than the number of appointments displayed.

OK: Opened a "Test" Database, and it returned a 3 - 4 second response. Interestingly, after RE-Opening the original db, it ALSO was down to 3 - 4 seconds (to open a "new appointment" dialog) - I ASSUMED that was due to having ran Maintenance & then Closing / Opening the db.

Alas, today (Jun 5), response time for my active DB is back up to 7 - 8 seconds AND both the "Test" AND a NEW DB are also running 7 - 8 seconds.
(The New DB is presumably completely empty; the Test database has a dozen entries or so.)

These are all now a couple of seconds quicker than prior, but not appreciably so.

No idea as to WHY the response time improved then worsened - my original thought was that the combination of running the Maintenance AND closing / reopening had resulting in faster response times, but subsequent Close / Open cycles do not produce the same improvement.

I do keep a lot of apps open, but Windows still reports Memory Usage of between 50 - 60% as a rule (although it can creep up to 70% over time).

Any ideas?

Could it be that Dierk's problem, when opening the dialog for creating a new appointment, is related to the incorrect links to the contacts (see the description of my problem)?

However, when working with appointments under EPIM 12, I frequently received error messages that could usually be closed easily - occasionally one error message was followed by a second error message. However, I have not pursued this any further as I am working with version 11.8.4 again. The many unresolved issues with EPIM 12 (see forum) suggest that there are some errors in the background and this is too uncertain for me and the errors keep costing time. I suspect it is due to the changed database structure and the not fully adapted algorithms in the background.

I tried 11.8.4 and the database would not open due to some kind of incompatibility.
How did you get it to work?

Dierk, please try installing a portable version into a separate folder to check its speed. There might be settings stored in your current epim.ini file affecting the program's performance. It's unusual for new item dialogs to take 3-4 seconds to open, they should open almost instantly.

bobmac1547, you can revert to the previous version of EPIM by renaming the EPIM db file created as a backup during the conversion from EPIM 11.8 to EPIM 12.0. Look for the file with "backup_convert" in its name.

Trinitylab, please avoid duplicating your requests. You can refer to: viewtopic.php?p=134341#p134341.

Hello Trinitylab

I only have the Pro version and old Business versions are apparently not directly available. Trying to get an 11.8.4 version via support.

I restore databases from old versions from my backups of the old database or from copies of the old database. I usually keep an old database for some time, so I can easily switch back to the old version.

Otherwise, I have switched to testing new versions first under observation of the forum (see also - below: viewtopic.php?p=134290#p134290). It is a bit more time-consuming, but saves the loss or the time-consuming restoration of the data from the new version (export to other formats and import to the old version) when returning to the previous version.

Good luck M&M

Hi M&M, I found 11.8.4 Pro:

it is in the link provided by admin, but not in the Pro section :) but in regular EPIM.
You need to run it, should work as Pro.

Hi, where is a file to download portable?

I am running through the main www but to no avail.
Download button instantly downloads the newest regular.

I simply need to run 12 simultaneously with 11.8.4 to check what I need to transfer manually to 11.8.

The newest regular version download has been including both the installable and portable versions for quite some time already.
