Contact Fields - Defaults Changed?

I’m still having issues with the contacts import. Have done it several times, trying general mappings as well as just selecting the “my first row contains captions”.
I do have the contacts imported and am able to view them the way I want to. (Please see attached pdf with screen shots) But there are some issues.
-When I try to send an email, the default Last Name/First Name do not appear. Just Company and the Email Address. Not really helpful for selecting names.
-I think there is a clue here when I go to the Tools/Newsletters it looks like the Other City and Other State are the defaults instead of First Name and Last Name.

Can you let me know what I’ve done wrong on the import or what I can do to correctly display the names?

When importing your contacts, please ensure the default first/last names are correctly mapped to the ones in the imported file. Thanks.
