Problem with EPIM PRO on Windows 7

Post by EoinDubh »

When my wife turned on her computer tonight to check her email all the folders and subfolders are there but NO messages show u at all. The database size is 3,060,752KB and the version of EPIM is 11.7. I have tried installing a backup from last week but have the same issue. What is going on?

Please verify if there is any search or filtering enabled in the current settings or options.

I do not see any search or filtering set. I was able to download 40 emails this morning but everything else seems to be gone.

Here is a log from this morning for my wife's email. I seem to remember hearing that EPIMPro 11.7 was not compatible with Windows 7 but that seems to be what is currently installed.

EPIM is still compatible with Windows 7; I'm not sure where you heard otherwise. Please check if there are any emails in the Deleted Items folder. If not, you might need to revert to one of the backups.

There are zero emails in the deleted folder. I have tried reverting to a couple of backups but get the same issue.

This seems like a mystery.. Could you clarify if that's an IMAP type of email account? Additionally, is there any mail still remaining on the server? It's also worth considering if there could be any other applications that might be interfering and removing your correspondence.

My wife and I are using the same email provider, Network Solutions, and the same version of EPIM Pro, 11.7. The only difference between our PCs is that hers is a Dell desktop running Windows 7 and mine is a custom built system running Windows 10. Since she has several backups on her system I am thinking of moving them to a backup drive and deleting/reinstalling EPIM Pro and then putting one of the backups back. Do you think that might work?

The appropriate action depends on your specific goal. If you want to reset everything and start fresh by adding the mail account again, that's one approach. If you aim to recover all your old emails, that's a different scenario. To offer you the best solution, it would be helpful to know the type of email account your wife is using (IMAP or POP). Thank you!

We are both using POP3. And we both use our email an an archive and have Her file is larger than mine as I can't get her to delete stuff she no longer needs. I have checked the settings for her EPIM install and the settings are the same as mine. Her system seems to be working now but there is older than yesterday morning. Is there a tool to look at an archive and extract info from a backup into the current file?

EPIM Synchronizer can be used for that purpose. However, before proceeding, it is important to verify if the desired data (emails) is present in the archived file. To accomplish this, you can easily open the backup file using EPIM.
