Little white boxes...

Post by bobmac1547 »

I don't know if I missed them before (I doubt it) or they just appeared by my doing something, but not knowing what they are is driving me nuts. :?
I've "circled" the boxes in question in the included screenshot:

Can anyone tell me what they are/mean and how to get rid of them?

Thanks!

Looks like categories. Click on Tools->Options, Calendar and see what's selected for the "Display categories as" option.

Thanks. But I don't think so. Anyway here's my tools > options > calendar dialog...

Any other ideas? As I said, this is a new appearance. I don't recall it being there in the past.

Then that's the calendar's color.

I don't think so. I changed the color to "green" but the white boxes still persist:

Strange thing these extra boxes, I have tried several options, but can not reproduce this problem.
I thought they might be a completed box or box that remains visible when switching the views, but no, can not get these to show.

Can you try the following options;
1 - File -> database management -> Optimize. Might help if something strange is in the database.
2 - if not successful, can you create a new database and enter a few appointments, to see if the problem still exists.
If not there is a problem in you database
If yes, maybe you can e-mail that new database to support and they can solve the problem.
3 - If it seems that there is a problem with your own database, then use the EPIM Tool Synchronize - https://www.essentialpim.com/features/f ... nchronizer
Synchronize your own database to the newly created database, hopefully that solves the problem.

Thanks, PeCe...

I finally got the chance to do some testing. I optimized, but that did nothing. Then I created a test database. When I create a new event in the test calendar, there is no white box in the event. That's good. It shows that EPIM itself is ok.

However, after synchronizing my "faulty" database with a new one using the EPIM tool, I still have the white boxes.

So, at this point, I believe it's in my database and it's something that synchronization just duplicates.

Max, can I send you my database for you to look at it? Or how should we handle this since it seems like my database is corrupted in some way. I really don't care about the display of the white boxes, but I want to make sure that no other functions of EPIM are compromised.

Thanks...

Please create a backup of your database, remove any sensitive information, and share it with us. We will investigate what is causing the white boxes for events. Regarding the integrity of your data, rest assured that if it passes optimization (File->Database Management->Optimize), it is secure.

Re: Little white boxes... SOLVED!

Post by bobmac1547 »

Just thought I'd share the solution to the "little white boxes" issue.

Per Max: "The white boxes represent the colors of the calendars that have been set to white. To remove them, please right-click on a calendar, select "Color," and set it to "None.""
