attempt to open e-mail saved as file lets collaps epim
Dear support, happy new year!
when I try to open an e-mail saved as file, opening fails and epim application stops working. Closing epim application then becomes very difficult to impossible.
Could you please help?

What's the program's version number? How do you try to open an EML file - simply by double clicking on it?

Re: attempt to open e-mail saved as file lets collaps epim
I have this issue right now (19/07/2024 ) using Essential PIM 12.0.4 under Windows 11.
I get the same Access Violation message as haegok illustrated, and Essential PIM hangs. The email produces by clicking send can't be sent, so I attach an image.
I hope this can be fixed: I rely on .eml files for saving emails, and until recently could always open them with Essential PIM, just by clicking on them.

Re: attempt to open e-mail saved as file lets collaps epim
Thanks
I have many emails saved as .eml
Reproduction steps: in folder containing .eml files, click on one.
Essential PIM hangs immediately. This happens whether Essential Pim is already running or not.

Re: attempt to open e-mail saved as file lets collaps epim
Sorry, should have added that Essential PIM is set as the default application for opening .eml files. The same failure happens if I right-click the .eml file and use Open With.

Re: attempt to open e-mail saved as file lets collaps epim
From my point of view it's not so brlliant.
- When epim is running, and I dblclick an eml-file from windows explorer, the file opens, but when I close it, epim-application remains open with a blank screen. Onliy when I close this blank screen, I get back epim in usable condition.
- When epim is NOT running, and I dblclick an eml-file from windows explorer, the file opens, but when I close it, epim remains in usual conition.
It should be as follows:
Regardless of whether epim is open or not, Windows Explorer should be in the foreground again after closing an epim file. It should not be necessary to turn off the epim interface first in order to continue working.
It would be nice if the solution were further developed in this direction.
Regards,

Please share a screenshot of the following situation: "epim-application remains open with a blank screen" as we couldn't reproduce that on our end. Thanks.

Please find enclosed the screenshot.
All buttons are active, and I can click on all of them. However, when I click on one, nothing happens.

Is that EPIM version 12.0.5? If yes, could you please record a short video demonstrating the issue?
