Send/Receive mail dialog is annoying...
It keeps popping up and stealing focus from what I am doing. How can this dialog be suppressed???
I measure a good day by how little I fell behind.

It shouldn't pop up at all if there's no issues with mail sending/receiving.

I agree with this. It pops up and obscures the view, requiring intervention to minimize.
Can you please make this "silent"?

@admin:
Well it does. I reduced the problem by checking only every 20 minutes. More frequently was too aversive. I rather like knowing what is going on, but it steals focus and is too interruptive when there are no problems. Perhaps checking more accounts makes things slow enough to imagine there are problems?It shouldn't pop up at all if there's no issues with mail sending/receiving.

Do you check for new mail manually? As only then it appears + if there're any issues.

You are right and my memory is from when there was an issue with one of my accounts and it was intermittent so I didn't notice it. But it hasn't shown for a few days at least, so the solution probably wasn't me making the timing longer!
