Photo Add Error

Post by mevlutkalay »

Hi
Redmi Note 9 Pro - Android 11.
EssentialPIM Pro 5.8.7 Android.
In the People section, the contact picture is only added from the gallery.
Adding by taking photos from the program does not work.
Photo is being taken. It looks like it has been added when the Add button is pressed. But the photo is not attached. Program permissions are all there.
It was working before.

Hi
Redmi Note 10S - Android 12
MIUI 13.06
EssentialPIM Pro 6.0.7 Android.
I have the same problem since last year, in the Contacts module.
Photos cannot be added from the cell phone camera.
Before it worked correctly.
The problem is because AEPIM does not have permissions to access the camera. (See attached image)
I don't know which update lost permission and I don't know how to add it.
Please find a solution.

Hi,
Thanks for the help.
The latest android version fixed the problem.
Now AEPIM can use the cell phone camera.
But another problem appeared.
I have taken photos for my students' contacts.
When I synchronize AEPIM with EPIM the warning appears: "Invalid driver". ("Controlador no válido" in spanish)
This notice only appears when synchronizing the contacts module.

The devices are:
AEPIM
Android 12 SP1 Spanish
Xiaomi Redmi Note 10S

EPIM
windows 10 spanish
ThinkPad L14 AMD Ryzen 5

I also have some suggestions for the contacts module.
1. AEPIM: A button to save, export or share the contact photo.
2. AEPIM: Options to save photos in reduced size (480x480, 640x640, etc). This will help that the size of the database is not large. Cell phone photos are very large, even choosing the lowest quality. I have more than 3,000 students registered in AEPIM and EPIM, and I have the photos of the majority.

Thank you for your attention and help.

Regarding the error message. Please forward us the sync log file. It can be found here: Tools->Options->Synchronization, Browse... and its filename should start with "AndroidSync". Will check what's causing the error.

As for the suggestions - thanks, noted!

I send the synchronization record.
The problem appears with the contact photos that I took this week, using the cell phone camera. Although it is configured for low quality, the photos of these modern cell phones are very large in size.
Thanks.
