Adjust dates

Post by Jon »

Ever since updating to 9.10.1 adjust dates is not working for me. I have optimized my database and tried all options in the dialogue to reschedule selected tasks. They remain where they are. I began to see this behavior with this version but coincidentally, I was adjusting dates for overdue tasks (if that is a factor). Sometimes but not always the dates are moved correctly after restarting EPIM. I can reschedule tasks individually.

Does anyone else experience this? Any solutions or is this a bug in need of fixing?

Thank you.

Might be my database. I just tried adjusting dates using 9.9.7. It is not working.

If it is my database, how can I fix it?

Thanks again.

You can create a new DB and check if the option is going to work on it. If yes, use EPIM Synchronizer (https://www.essentialpim.com/pc-version ... ntary-apps) to sync data from your current database into the new one.

Thank you for the suggestion. I will try this, but in the meantime I have an update. Skipping a couple of releases, I reverted to 9.7.5. So far adjusting dates is functioning as it should. To me this seems like a bug that was introduced in subsequent versions. It may not appear in new databases created by 9.10.1, but with older databases (mine goes back to 5.5.7) it might.

Please first check if the problem is there for the new DB. If not, sync your database over to the new one, if yes, please forward us the detailed list of steps. Thanks!

Did as you suggested. Created several simple tasks in a new database using 9.10.1. There are erratic failures with adjusting. By failures, I mean they do not move to a new date. By erratic, I mean that it sometimes works.

I may have to stay with 9.7.5 for now because I rely on this feature.

What kind of erratic failures did you experience? Could you describe them in more details?

By erratic I mean sometimes the moving of tasks to another date fails and sometimes it succeeds. Bear in mind I followed your suggestion and created a new database to test this. In 9.7.5 this works dependably.

I am using the portable version with identical options (epim.ini).

Please check if the problem is still there in the latest 9.10.5 version.

I have been using this version (9.10.5) for the better part of the day. So far, the problem seems to be fixed. I will report back as I accumulate more experience and uncover some problems. But I would be surprised if I do (that's a vote of confidence).

Thank you!
