For the date to appear in the calendar you have to check the checkboxes on your second screenshot.
You can also change the category there to Birthday (or to something else).
 

I don't know what people use these days for recording screen videos. I've been using ShareX since before there were a lot of other alternatives. And in the GIF above for highlighting mouse clicks I used a fork from carnac But I haven't tried either on an external monitor, I have no idea how they act...

The help file doesn't mention it yet, but clicking on links with the mouse wheel also works to open them in a separate window.

I'd like to have the 'Copy as Link' in the context menu of any opened item.
Or a keyboard shortcut for coping to the clipboard the link to the active item.
Or both.

I can drag a leaf to a different note.
I can drag a note to be a child note to another note, or to drag notes to be in custom order.
But I'm still not convinced that it's possible to drag a leaf to be a separate note.

I don't think it works for Leaves. You can drag notes to the horizontal line, but a dragging a leaf just shows the circle:
