Re: Google note sync kind of useless, when used with google docs.
Google uses its own native format for storing documents in Google Drive, which is different from the docx and rtf file formats. EPIM is designed to work specifically with Google's native format. Alright, so excuse aside, what needs to be done to make this actually useful? How can you sync with EPIM...

Google note sync kind of useless, when used with google docs.
I tired google drive sync for notes today for the first time and... EPIM doesn't support .docx imports? Google drive makes all it's files in .docx by default. So when I setup the sync and than copied all my google doc notes over to the synced folder it attached all my notes as .docx attachments to a...

Re: Option to export "clean" HTML from notes
The root cause is that EPIM HTML generator is a crime against the internet and makes a mess of inline styles that do silly things like applying inline style to literally everything and needlessly applying font colors to everything as well resulting in cases where you have black on black and white on...

Option to export "clean" HTML from notes
Could there be an option to export clean HTML, as in no formatting beyond structural? Eg: No: font family, color, background, highlights...etc Why: I use EPIM in dark mode and it doesn't always apply text color correctly on HTML export. So I get large section of black and large sections of white fon...

Re: EPIM Synchronizer to new to older version
It's also a tool that would fit in well for business too. Most business are already going to have an established email/communication system so having it built into EPIM is actually a negative selling point in many ways since it's just a vector for security issues, and lots of unnecessary updates. I...

Re: compact mode for note tabs and smart lists in the new beta
+1 This would work very well for me as I do a similar thing. As in only having tree tabs named with single letter. So the more compact the better.

Outline Processor Markup Language (OPML) Export and Import for notes
I'd like to suggest Outline Processor Markup Language (OPML) Export and Import for notes as it seems to be one of the most universal ways to move around outline format notes from program to program. I have a client who want's to import a sizeable amount of data I have in EPIM into their copy of Scri...

Re: is it possible to SQL query the Essential PIM database file
Is there any reason for not using Heidi SQL for EPIM? I'm asking as I just starting to investigate a SQL front end for EPIM for occasional inqeury use. Heidi SQL only supports firebird 3x and 4x well. EPIM runs on 2x It's worth noting 2.5 support ended in 2019 and by that time it was already fairly...

Re: is it possible to SQL query the Essential PIM database file
We use an old copy of RazerSQL to interact directly with the EPIM database. Newer copies of RazerSQL could work. We've just moved entirely over to Heidi SQL for everything else and only keep the old copy of RazerSQL around for EPIM. (RazerSQL is $100 per user per year. It's not a subscription so aft...

Re: What version of EPIM should be LTS?
In the sprite of LTS you'd want to support a classic version that has users who are staying with it in order to avoid breaking changes, not bugs. Which to me V6 is what fits that bill. I'm in a company and we still use V6 for several databases too, because performance drops too far when migrating to...

Re: Finding hidden private items.
I don't think private hidden notes should be searchable a large part of their appeal is that they are hard to find.
It's already easy enough to hit the hotkey to un-hide private items and then search works fine with them.

Re: Why you DON'T like EPIM?
EPIM devs should build a tool to anonymize customer data in the DB with a viewer that proves the non-reversible transformation to a satisfactory level before sending by email — Regards They pretty much already do. Encrypt your database, open it up in a firebird database viewer. According to them th...

Near infinite backups
If anyone is worried about backup size get to know ZPAQ. It's been awhile since it was brought up here and I really wished the devs world just make it a part of EPIM, but since they haven't I figured I'd make a post so people can find out about it. I have 500GB, yes, 500GB of EPIM backups in a 9GB o...

Re: More of an annoyance than a problem but...
If the database is truly empty then it'll be a really small size. So odds are there's "stuck" trash. When it happened to me I could open up the database in a viewer and see stuff stuck in places. EPIM databases are just firebird databases so you can open them with any tool that supports ol...
