Admin,
As an aside...I've never been able to use the error "send" option as it wants to email a report, but my email program, EPIM, is locked up with the error. Is there an alternative to "Send"?

Re: Database corruption issues continue
Admin, I have done what you asked in that previous thread: - Create a duplicate of your database file. - Open the duplicated file with EPIM and remove all data. - Optimize the database, exit, restart EPIM, and check if the issue persists. - If the problem persists, archive the file and send it to us...

Database corruption issues continue
Admin, The issues of the topic < https://www.essentialpim.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=132317#p132317 > continue. Since it's out of BETA, I'm moving my discussion here. To encapsulate, monthly or so the database corrupts itself causing erratic program behavior; often to the point that the program becom...

Re: New Sidebar problem
Admin, I used to repair televisions and VCRs. Invariably I'd get a case where the problem only shows itself until *I* arrived to work on it; then the item worked perfectly. That seems to be the case with this database. I copied a dozen or so calendar items into a new, empty database, turned off &quo...

Re: New Sidebar problem
Admin,
Version 11.8b1 made no difference. I thought I'd solved it by cycling the "Run at Startup" option and restarting the program, but sadly that didn't do it.
Back to square 1.
Your suggestions?

Re: New Sidebar problem
Admin, It appears that it does this when the program is opened with my machine booting up. If I open it from a shortcut it doesn't happen. Again, only when starting with the machine. I just upgraded to 11.8 beta. I'll be able to tell you tomorrow morning if it still acts up with the start of the mac...

New Sidebar problem
All, Intermittently starting with EPIM Windows v 11.7.3, the calendar part of the sidebar shows nonsensical characters instead of the actual upcoming calendar events. 2023-11-20 10_47_53-Window.jpg Restarting EPIM clears the problem and returns it to normal operation. (Hence the "intermittent&q...

Re: Can't turn off "Insert Date & Time" Shortcut
Admin,
Thanks. It worked.
As a suggestion though, you may want to make the two separate items: this checkbox, and the shortcut in options, related so that they track each other - changing one changes the other.

Can't turn off "Insert Date & Time" Shortcut
Admin, I find the Setting for "Insert Date and Time", Shift + Space to be particularly annoying. I typically hold the shift key while I space over words and am forced to go back and remove the inserted timestamp. To solve this problem, I tried to both disable that shortcut by setting it to...

Re: login twice
kenknight, Stability of this product is a common and persistent issue. This thread was started by people begging for a version that emphasized stability over flashy features: < https://www.essentialpim.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=37707 >. Personally, I cringe with fear every time I open it after an up...

Possible spam filtering bug
Folks, Somewhere along the way, Adaptive Spam Filtering became enabled on one of my accounts. If I turned it on, I must have done it by mistake because I NEVER allow programs to sort spam for me. Regardless, since I didn't intentionally turn this filter on, I also never made a corresponding SPAM fol...

Re: Why do you like EssentialPIM?
All, I recently noticed that the only posts I make here are complaints. That doesn't tell the correct story about my relationship with EPIM... EPIM is my "Go to" program. It opens with my computer each morning and is my first interaction with my day. I check my calendar, email and task lis...

Poet-Man,
These points WERE raised in the Beta testing...they were not incorporated into the final version.
I do not know why.

Re: Dialog "simplification"
Admins, "This is also an excellent time to bring up the subject of being able to rearrange the dialog as the user sees fit." I too would like to see more user-customizable dialogs. As is, the calendar entry dialog is confusing and still has may fields I don't use. If I could customize it, ...
