Epim not loading

Postby TerryRogers » Wed Jan 17, 2007 9:32 am

I have a problem, that when I double click the epim pro portable icon the program appears to load (Appears in task manager, hard disk light flashes a lot) but n o gui appears.

Any one else had this issue? Any idea how to resolve?

The program will run in compatibilty mode (Win98) but with several errors.

Just for any one else who has the same problem, discovered that this was down to a service called "iolo DMV Service" that is installed with System Mechanic 7.

After disabled the service the app worked fine..

What is "iolo DMV Service"?

Postby tobius » Sat Jan 20, 2007 1:44 am

I can not open Epim, I also run System Mechanic #7 but I can't find any reference to your quoted problem, on my system (XP) or on the Iolo actual site.
This "iolo DMV Service" - what is it and how can I find it?
Was wondering if that is why I can't open mine. Was on vacation, hubby playing with my system, he updated System Mech to the latest version - got back, now Epim Pro won't open.
Thanks for any help,
Tob

That's a known Mecanic's problem. They interfere with our licensing system. Vendors of Sy Mechanic know about it, not sure when they going to fix it.

Yep. You can tell them it is a case with Armadillo from Silicon Realms. Pretty many software vendors use it and now all of a sudden new version of System Mechanic prevents Armadillo from loading.
