Extend categories to Contacts

Categories only seem to apply to Tasks and Todos - could they be extended to Contacts, too (as in Outlook)?

I ask this partly because there is a Contact field in EPIM called "categories" which I have confused with the real thing. Why haven't categories been included in Contacts up to now?

Contacts have own sorting tool- Groups. If there are more requests, we might add categories. But so far there was not many.

Categories would be nice, because would be in line with [calender] and [todo], therefore making the usage more consistent. But like you say, I have also divided my [contacts] in groups and solved it that way. [calender] and [todo] do not have groups, so there the usage of categories is useful. Personally I would prefer groups in [todo] over categories in [contacts]. Filtering with groups works easier than filtering with categories.
